Days 61-66

Big Update! Days 61-66

Day 66: Back to normal, on the bubble, under the dome, Home Sweet Home. We had a blast in Anchorage it was so good to get off the island for a few days.

Day 65: Aaron spoiled me with a new lens this weekend. A gorgeous 1.4 55mm and it has fabulous bokah. We went to a cute little baker and I tried it out. I also had a champagne cupcake with strawberry butter cream frosting that was so yummy!

Day 64: The ceremonial start of the Iditarod in downtown Anchorage was a blast! We haven't been since we lived in Anchorage so it was fun to show the kids what I grew up doing.

Day 63: Fur Rondy Rides- If you think rides at 32 degree in rain and wind are cold try a stiff inlet breeze at a balmy 12 degree's BRRR!

62: Spelling Bee Day! This day really deserves its own post so I will only put up a quickie 365 pic. Eli was the BEST and CUTEST speller there.

Day 61: the Snow City Royal is pomegranate juice with champagne and it is so yummy I can't wait to make one at home. Just to be fair this was after 10 am.

Day 60-Two months down!
One last study session before heading off to the Bee in Anchorage tomorrow. The Bee is on Thursday so we will have a day to chill before the actual Bee.

Addie doll came home from the doll hospital today. Beautifully wrapped and all fixed up. Peach was so happy to see her, actually we were both really excited to her. And another plus of living in a small town was when the postal woman knew exactly what it was and that Addie was home from the hospital!

My turn for Soup Monday! Each Monday at work someone from the staff brings in three or four crock-pots full of soup to share with the staff. So if you sign up for Soup Monday, each Monday you have a free lunch. I always forget it's Monday until I walk in the staff lounge and smell the yummy soup. Anyway it was my turn to make the soup for Soup Monday and thankfully Aaron was home to help me get it all made.

An adorable picture of a sweet doll. Naomi is missing her Addie doll, but she did get a chance to play with Anna's Kirsten doll yesterday at the Ladies Breakfast. Anna is an adorable young lady who we watched grow up. She was nine when we first moved to Kodiak and her and Clara and Emma (our neighbors at the time) loved to play dolls. I can remember watching the girls play dolls on the front yard next door and just wishing for the day when I would have my own little girl to play dolls with.

Wow what a gorgeous day it was today. Kodiak was the warmest spot in the whole state at 48 degrees. I spotted this beautiful sunrise from the front room today, so we hurried out to catch it. The sunrise was beautiful but when two fishing boats came through the channel one going out for the day and the other bringing in a catch it was picture perfect.

This bread was smiling at me! Sadly, the smiling bread wasn't a sign that today was going to be a carefree day. See that little girl holding the smiley bread? Her and I were in and out of school before 8:30. We spent the day home sick on the couch. Thankfully she is feeling much better tonight.
